Student Visa (PBS) in Italy:

The student visa in Italy is designed for individuals aged 16 and above who have secured a place in a higher education course in the country. This category is part of the POINT BASED SYSTEM. To obtain a study visa, students typically need to accumulate 50 points for the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), 10 points for Funds Maintenance, and 10 points for meeting the English language requirements. Student Visa (PBS)

Student visa is for the students who are over 16 years of age and have been offered a place on a course to the United Kingdom for their higher education & this category falls under the POINT BASED SYSTEM.

Pakistani students who want to study in Australia, need to obtain a student visa. With a student visa, students are allowed to stay and study in the country for up to five years, at an acknowledged higher education institution. Students can apply for a student visa using their Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) or admission confirmation letter provided by the university or the intuition registered under the Commonwealth Register of Institutions of Courses (CRICOS).

Documents Required for an Australian student visa

Essential documents required for Australian study visa for Pakistani Students are:

  • A valid passport
  • Students filled Australian student visa application form (157A)
  • 4 recent passport-sized photographs
  • Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement: It was introduced in November 2011 to state the actual the intention of the international student to stay in Australia for their studies and some students have to attend an interview at the nearest Australian embassy.
  • English proficiency requirement: IELTS, TOEFL iBT, Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic, and Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) test score is valid
  • Receipt of the Application fees paid
  • Certificate of Enrolment (CoE) [Application/admission confirmation letter] from the applied university/institution
  • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC): All the international students must have covered health insurance before applying for an Australian study visa
  • Statement of purpose (SOP)
  • All academic documents and work experience certificate
  • Proof of financial ability to meet the cost of living (travel, living expenses, and return air ticket) which is around AUD 21,041 for a year
  • Income proof of the sponsors.
  • Health/Medical Certificate: Pakistani student must submit medical check-up records from a doctor who is approved by the Australian immigration department

  • The managerial team at the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) consider the factors like applicant’s history of immigration, the value of the course the applicant has applied for, considering their future career objective, the potential circumstances for the applicant in Australia and any other relevant matters.
    If students have managed the entire necessary document according to the Australian student visa requirements, then they can apply for a student visa with the online ‘ImmiAccount’ application system.
    Students are supposed to apply for the Visa at least 12 weeks before their institution’s orientation date.

    Study Abroad Australian Visa: Assessment Levels

    Currently, there are 5 Assessment levels in the visa application process and these levels are based on the

    Country of origin

    •           The field of study

    •           The university student is studying at, and

    •           The study level [based on the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) standards]

    If the applicant is placed in the higher assessment level then the person has to submit more documents before obtaining an Australian student visa. The assessment level generally depends upon past compliance with immigration standards and other parameters that determine the immigration risk.
    Students’ Australian visa application will be assigned a Transaction Reference Number (TRN) by the Australian Government.

    Visa processing time and validity

    Usually, it takes 4-5 weeks to process the application once it was filed.
    If the duration of the course student has applied is more than 10 months and completes by mid of the December (Australian academic year), then his/her visa will expire on 15th of March of the corresponding year. However, if the extent of their course is more than 10 months and finishes in between January and October, then visa will be valid for 2 months following the completion of the applied course.

    What if your study duration is less than 2 years?

    There is a special subclass of visa called Temporary Graduate (Subclass 485), international students are eligible for this visa if the duration, of course, is less than 2 years or the qualification is below that of a bachelor degree (diploma/trade-level certificate).

    • The essential requirements/work rights included are:
    • Students can work in Australia for a period of 18 months and up to 4 years, depending on their qualification
    • To qualify for the visa the applicant has to qualify the skill assessment in an occupation on the Skilled Occupation List.
    • It does not confine the number of hours of work
    • The applicant must have a valid student visa in the last 6 months and should fulfill all the requirements like Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), English proficiency

    Canada Student Visa Requirements

    The Canadian Government provides an opportunity to all Pakistani students to study in the country but for that they are required to obtain a Study Permit before going to Canada.
    Along with the study permit, students will also need a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) to get an entry in Canada. Study permit is a document that enables students to study in Canada but TRV is a visa which allows students to enter in the Country.

    Documents Checklist for SDS (STUDENT DIRECT STREAM):

    • Fully completed Application form (all questions answered), dated and signed, indicating students personal mailing address, reliable phone contact, and their personal email address
    • Original, valid passport as well as a photocopy of the biodata page
    • Family Information Form and Student Questionnaire
    • Two passport photographs with a white background and each family member requesting a visa. The photographs should have students’ name printed on the back, dated and taken in the past 6 months
    • Letter of Acceptance from students’ educational institute in Canada stating unconditional admission, the course title, duration of the study, level of study, start date (multiple start dates, if applicable) and latest possible date of admission
    • IELTS test results have taken within the last 24 months with overall band 6.0, with no individual band lower than 6.0
    • Photocopy of the most recent diploma/leaving certificate, and most recent mark sheets (for the entire program; consolidated mark sheets are NOT acceptable)
    • Copy of tuition fee receipt provided by the institution

    Note:

    • It is mandatory to complete a medical examination prior to submission application. Medical results are valid for one year.
    • To file Study Permit application under SDS, it is mandatory to show a GIC certificate obtained from any of the approved Canadian financial institution proving that funds to the extent of CAD$ 10000 are available as living costs for the student.
    • Payment of one-year tuition fee to the college / university is mandatory under SDS

    USA STUDY VISA FOR PAKISTAN STUDENTS

    The US Government provides an opportunity to all Pakistani students to study in the country but for that they are required to obtain a Student visa before going to the Country.
    Here are some important application guidelines for Pakistani students who are planning to study in The USA and applying for their USA study visa.

    TYPES OF USA STUDY VISA

    Visa applicants don’t have to select the visa type; it is the university or the sponsoring institute who will define the USA visa type based on their application profile for a specific course.
    Mentioned below are the different types of USA student visa:

    • F-1 Student Visa
      International students applying for a full-time study in USA institution/university which is recognized by DHS (Department of Homeland Security) will get an F-1 Student Visa.
    • F-2 Dependent of an F-1 Student
      This study visa is offered to dependents of an F-1 student visa holder and they cannot study in the USA with this visa. Children of F-2 dependent visa can study in the USA at the K-12 level.
    • M-1 Vocational Student Visa
      An international student enrolled in a vocational program in the USA will get an M-1 visa. An international student must continue a full course of study and part-time study is only allowed if approved by the Designated School Official (DSO).
    • M-2 Dependent of M-1 Student
      This study visa is offered to dependents of an M-1 Vocational Student Visa holder and they cannot study in the USA with this visa. Children of M-2 Dependent visa can study in the USA at the K-12 level.
    • J-1 Exchange Student Visa
      J-1 visa holders must maintain a full course of study and they can reduce the course duration if approved by Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) by a Responsible Officer (RO)/Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) of the designated program sponsor, by Department of State (DOS) regulations.
    • J-1 Exchange Student Intern Visa
      This visa is given to international students who are presently registered and studying a degree at a post-secondary academic institution outside the US.
    • J-1 Exchange Visitor: Professor, Researcher, Specialist, Trainee, Physician, Intern Professor, Researcher, Specialist, Trainee, Physician, Intern
      International students who are visiting researchers, short-term scholars, professors, specialists, physicians, trainees, interns, under the sponsorship of an exchange visitor program approved by the DOS.
    • J-2 Dependent of a J-1 Exchange Visitor
      It is offered to dependents of a J-1 Exchange Visitor Visa holder and they can study full or part-time in the USA with this visa.

    STEPS INVOLVED IN THE USA STUDENT VISA APPLICATION PROCESS

    The visa application process starts with the receipt of an I-20.

    • Pay your SEVIS fee (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System)
    • Complete online visa application form
    • Pay US visa fee at the nominated bank
    • Book your visa interview appointment
    • Attend your visa interview

    F-1 Student Visa

    A foreign student must maintain a full course of study and part-time study is only allowed with the approval of the DSO (Designated School Official) as per the rules and regulations.
    The F-1 student visa allows international students to work 20 hours per week during weekdays and 40 hours per week during off-days.
    To become eligible for OPT, the international student must have completed 1 academic year of their degree. Those who have completed a degree in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics) courses may be eligible for a 24-month extension of OPT (36 months total).

    F-1 Optional Practical Training (OPT)

    Optional Practical Training is a prospect for F-1 students to attain work experience along with their academic program and their work must be related to their major area of study like:

    • • Computer Science (excluding data entry/microcomputer applications)

    For 24-month extension, the organization which is providing the job must be registered with the E-Verify Employment Verification Programme regulated by US Citizenship and Immigration Services.

    J-1 Exchange Student Visa

    The J-1 student visa allows international students to work on campus for maximum 20 hours per week during weekdays and full-time during off-days only with prior permission from the Responsible Officers (RO) or Alternate Responsible Officers (ARO) of their designated program.
    J-1 visa holders are allowed 18 months of Practical Academic Training (up to 36 months for post-doctoral training).

    Turkey student visa process

    Here are the steps you need to follow in order to get your Turkish student visa:

    1. Be accepted onto a program in Turkey: You can only apply for a visa once you’ve received an acceptance letter from a university in Turkey.
    2. Arrange an appointment at your local consulate: You need to make your application in person at your nearest Turkish embassy or consulate. You should be able to book an appointment online.
    1. Complete your application and supply documents: When you attend your visa appointment you need to complete and sign a visa application, and submit it with the required documents (listed below).
    2. Await a decision: You can sometimes track the process of your application on the Turkish consulate website.
    3. Apply for a residence permit: When you arrive in Turkey, you will need to apply for a residence permit within one month.

    Attending your visa appointment

    On the day of your appointment at the Turkish consulate or embassy, you will attend a short interview with a consular officer. They will ask you a few questions about your plans, and your trip to Turkey.
    This interview will influence whether or not you will get your visa, so it’s important you make a good impression. You should also make sure you have all your documents with you when you go to the appointments, as missing just one could mean your application is rejected.

    Turkish student visa requirements

    When you submit your Turkey student visa application you must provide the following documents:
    • Your passport, valid for at least 90 days
    • A completed and signed Turkish student visa application form
    • 2 passport-size photos
    • Letter of acceptance from your university, including the duration of your stay
    • Proof of travel insurance for your entire stay in Turkey
    • Proof of health insurance
    • Proof of booked flight tickets to Turkey
    • Evidence of sufficient financial resources to support your study and living in Turkey
    • Visa processing fee, this can vary depending on your nationality
    • Proof of accommodation in Turkey
    • Previous education certificates or diplomas

    Turkey student residence permit requirements

    In order to stay in Turkey beyond the 90 days allowed by your student visa, you must apply for a residence permit at the Provincial Directorate of Migration Administration.

    You’ll need to supply the following documents:
    • Application form
    • Passport, including photocopies and your student visa
    • Proof of your university place
    • Four passport size photographs

    Your residence permit will be valid for one year, but you can renew your permit 60 days before it expires by visiting the local authorities and completing a renewal application form.

    Turkish student visa processing time

    The processing of your visa application can take between 3 and 15 days, but this can vary depending on the embassy or consulate you've used. Although the processing time for a Turkish student visa is relatively short, it's well worth applying as early as possible. Unforeseen delays, or missing documents, could mean you don't get your visa in time if you leave it until the last minute to apply.

    To study in a European country, Pakistani students need an official study visa. German study visas are issued to international students enrolled in various study courses in Germany.

    German Study Visa Fees

    Students applying for a study visa have to pay some visa fees with an application at the local German embassy or consulate in their country. The typical Germany study visa fee is €75 or approximately 16,000+ pkr.

    Types of German Study Visas

    There are three types of study visas issued for international students residing outside the European nation

    Student Visa (Studentenvisum)

    It is the standard German student visa for international students who are enrolled in a full-time university program. To get a German student visa the student has to submit the Zulassungsbescheid, meaning the letter of admission from a German University or an Institute for Higher Education in Germany.

    Student Applicant Visa (Studienbewerbervisum)

    This kind of visa is issued to those applicants who want to take admission at a German university by visiting the institutes personally. The students have to submit the proof of entitlement to get admission and/or conditional acceptance at a university in Germany.

    Visa to Pursue a Language Course in Germany

    These visas are issued to students who want to attend language courses in Germany. If the student applies for the language course visa, he/she will have to leave Germany at the end of the course. This visa is not converted into any sort of residence permit. Students who want to study in Germany after the completion of their language course should state this requirement in the application.

    German Student Visa Requirements

    The following requirements for acquiring a German Study visa are stated by German Consulate in Pakistan.

    • All copies of submitted documents have to be in A4 size DIN
    • Three copies of all documents are needed with applications submitted at the Embassy Islamabad.
    • Documents should be unstapled, complete and readable
    • Two copies of all documents are needed with applications submitted at the Consulate Karachi

    German Student Visa Checklist

    • All the school and college documents
    • Passport size photos with white background, not older than three months
    • Valid and updated Passport: Passport should remain valid for three months even after the expiry of the applied visa
    • All previous passports
    • Employment history if applicable with previous employment letter from all employers
    • If the student is enrolled in German taught course, tests scores from “Zertifikat Deutsch” at least A1 level certificate or Goethe-Institute (GI) or NUML are required. If the student is enrolled in an English taught program then TOEFL (minimum score of 550) or IELTS (Band 6.0) are required.
    • Marriage certificates with spouse and children documents if applicable
    • Original and two copies of the academic degree and transcript attested by HEC (Higher Education Commission Pakistan)
    • Proof of financial means (Sometimes students are asked to open an account in German Bank. Ask the visa officer or consulate representative about the process in detail )
    • Income and bank statements of the last 6 months of your sponsor
    • Proof of language abilities according to the standards of the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE):
    • Te students who are funded by scholarship program in Germany should submit the relevant proofs and documents
    • The student has to submit preliminary health insurance with application. From now, the German government is asking for valid health insurance for international students (Students can also take health insurance in Germany). Health insurance is basically needed which covers the time period until the student settled in Germany.

    German Study Visa Processing Time

    The current processing time for a German study visa is between 5 and 10 weeks. To keep the student in pace with the admitted course, German consulate asks the prospective student to apply for the next semester when there is a minimum time -gap of 5 weeks between your appointment date and the starting date of the semester. The Embassy, in fact, holds the right to refuse applicants who have submitted a study visa application 5 weeks before the starting date of the semester.
